Ongoing construction on the Yangtze River (Blue River), the Three Gorges Dam is the largest project in the world (18 200 MW, the equivalent of 18 nuclear reactors!). With a height of 185 m, this gigantic dam will stop the floods of the Yangtze. Its construction, whose completion is planned for 2009 is around 1.5 to 2 million people.
